Poets & Pirates Houston High SchoolHouston High School is the oldest building and high school in the state of Texas. HHS was built on April 2nd, 1863. At the time, it wasn't known as Houston High School, nor was it even thought to be turned into one. It served as a confederate hospital. Plenty of soldiers had died in here, most believe it to be haunted. Though they have no proof of it, no one denies it. In 1945, it was going to be demolished, but the city of Houston decided to remodel it and put it to good use. Finally, in 1968, they had finished the remodeling and named in Mountain Ridge High. Though the name didn't go to well with the city, it remained that until 2011. It was renamed Houston High School. Now, in 2023, the school is the most popular school in, not only Houston, but Texas as well.|| || || ||
