Hey, there wasn’t a lot Chloe didn’t know about in Smallville, and even less about what was happening in her new school. So it was only right that she should be waiting to ambush the new girl outside school. Not from Smallville in anyway shape or form, she wants to ask the girl a few questions, not only find out where she had come from, how old she was, what it was like living with a famous father (yes she had done her research) but also to see if the strange happenings in Smallville Had ever spread further than the town’s boundaries. If they had, then perhaps the daily planet knew.
She sat, outside on the wall waiting for her next victim, erhum, topic of interest to arrive at the school gates. Behind her she could already hear the cheerleaders warming up, the jocks fooling around. Stereotypical Madness. Pete still wasn’t back from holiday and Clark, as ever was late, so she was pretty much stood on her own looking for the girls who’s picture she had memorised.
Yawning a little, the end of her pencil pausing for a second from it’s tapping regime on her notebook, she caught sight of long brown hair. Hello. She stopped, mid yawn, and looked at the girl closer. Bingo. Sarah Hudgens, you are mine. She stood up and waved at the girl, shouting her name. ‘Hey Sarah! You got a minute?

So today was her first day of her new school. In all fairness, Sarah thought it was ok. You know, better than all of the rumors she had heard about weird happenings and such. Her arms clasped two thick books close to her chest as she dodged people in the hall. It seemed everyone had somewhere to go, a place to be. Everyone belonged in this school, that's what it seemed like. Girls in mini-skirts were kissing their jock boyfriends goodbye, then skipping off to cheer leading practice. Her light brown eyes rolled in disgust. It seemed just like the movies. How interesting it would be for a girl who has never gone to school before be plopped right into high school in Junior year. Yes, interesting to say the very least.
Some random boys started to whistle as she walked by, sandals flip-flopping on the tiled floor. Sarah merely kept her head up and walked on. She was wearing skinny jeans with a long blue blouse that complimented her figure.
Strolling out of the high school, Sarah felt the sun on her face and smiled for the first time that day. No, she wasn't thrilled about going to school all of a sudden, where she had no friends, so her face hadn't really moved from a sour look. She would get her father for this!
As her feet started to walk her home, her ears picked up a call. It sounded like someone was yelling her name. Turning in a surprised manner, Sarah looked around. She then took notice of a young woman with blond hair, waving at her.
Hey Sarah! You got a minute?
Eye brows rose and her nails found their way to Sarah's mouth. She started to bite on them nervously. It was a terrible habit of hers. It was so sudden, and she pretty much thought no one even knew she existed in that school, but obviously someone cared (for one reason or another). Ripping her hand out of her mouth, the tips of Sarah's slender fingers were now glazed in vanilla lip-gloss. Her memory proved to her that nail biting was not a good way to show a stranger about yourself. Jut remember your interviews with the paparazzi, she thought then walked over to Chloe.
"Um, yeah I have a minute." She said in a soft voice.

Already Chloe was pulling her notebook and Pen from her bag, smiling triumphantly as she glanced between the pink leather and the girl, Sarah’s features. Already she was going through in her head what she knew about this girl, Junior year, first time in high school, all the stuff she had picked up of the internet. Hey Chloe wasn’t editor for nothing you know!
So, standing in front of the girl now she smiled. ‘Hey, I’m Chloe, editor of The Torch, and I was wondering if maybe I could ask you a few questions? You know, about your first day everything?’ she smiled that sweet smile of hers, the one many people found hard to say now too. ‘It’ll only take a few minutes, and i guess you haven’t got anywhere urgent to be running off to?’
Before the girl could answer, she had flicked open the book, her pen poised over the paper even as students streamed past them on their way home. Still no Clark though, she hadn’t seen him all day. But, enough about that. Here were two sides to Chloe Sullivan, the doting best friend and the journalist, and right now the journalist was in charge. Hey, if this interview was juicy enough, it might make more than the back page.

A reporter...here? Could she not go anywhere without people asking her questions about her father. Oh the scandals, the cheating, the gambling. She wasn't too fond of her father at the moment right now. He even went so low as to get drugs, but she was not to talk about that. She loved him, but he could just be so stupid!
The girl named Clhoe had whipped out her pen and paper like they were the very things that were keeping her alive. Power walking over to Sarah, the woman looked like she was on a mission, and Sarah was the subject of that A-ranked mission.
Hey, I’m Chloe, editor of The Torch, and I was wondering if maybe I could ask you a few questions? You know, about your first day everything?
What was she going to say, 'no'? Nope, the girl was pretty much cornered here...in the wide open courtyard. Yet she had a feeling she wouldn't get out of this easily. As long as the girl didn't ask anything to personal, everything should be alright.
Smiling, Sarah tucked her long brown hair behind her pierced ears. She looked down at the pen and paper anxiously then back into the girls green-blue eyes. "Yeah, ok. By the way, it's nice to met you."
Shoes scuffed up the cement ground as her nervous posture came into play. She wasn't really a people person.

She could tell the girl was nervous, I mean it was obvious enough from the biting nails, the scuffing of feet. It probably didn’t help with the whole stood in the middle of the courtyard thing either. She smiled, kindly hiding the deep delving reporter inside her and glanced around. ‘Hey do you want to sit down? It’s a little weird stood in the middle of the courtyard huh?’ She smiled, and made for the table, waiting for the girl to join her before continuing.
‘Ok, so i promise it’s nothing too bad ok?’ she smiled. ‘Ok, so basics. You move around with your dad a lot, and you have four sisters, so what in all the world brought you to smallville? Was it the fascination of the meteor rocks, or the strange things that keep happening here? Or has your dad finally settled down?’ she asked, pen tapping against her chin as she waited for the answers, and thus to begin taking notes.
Once more, she looked the girl over. She was pretty, perhaps a runner against Lana Lang, in the years to come, but it seemed like herself confidence was lacking, and that in itself was suicidal in high school. ‘Hey, weren’t you supposed to have a tour or something for the day? Someone to show you the ropes? I heard Clark offered to help, but then so did Lana and some of the other cheerleaders. Don’t tell me they forgot about you!?’ now that would be interesting, the social standing of Cheerleaders shown for what it was. pregnant doginess and backstabbing as they forgot about the new girl. Yes, Chloe saw a story in everything.

Following the girl to a nearby table, the 'noobie' felt a heck of a lot more comfortable than just standing in the open. Her eyes flickered once more from pen and paper to Chloe. Stuffing her hands in her jean pockets, Sarah could do only one thing while she listened to the girl: smile. Some confidence started to shine through that very smile as the new girl thought about the school more and more. Maybe everyone is this friendly here, she thought and let an inner fire burn slowly. The small town of...well Small Ville shouldn't be too hard to get used to. I mean, there's not as many kids in the school as I thought. Must be because of the acres of farmland. As she thought, Chloe talked on about why her, her sisters, and her father moved here. Sarah just barely caught up with her.
"Oh, well I'm pretty sure my Dad 'wants' to settle down now. Plus, he said going to a public school would be a good experience for me." She held back a snort of mocking laughter. Her father also thought cocaine would solve all of his problems.
Then a totally different topic change. Her eyebrows rose as she heard about her "private tour" of the school with someone. It surprised her to know people actually would take the time out of their busy teenage lives to help a new student. She smiled and pressed her lips together to renew the glimmer of her lip gloss.
"I'm not sure. Actually I wasn't even really aware of this 'tour'..."

Chloe scribbled down her answers, but it was the last bit that really made her grin. This was going to turn out to be an interesting article after all. ‘So, you had no idea that you were supposed to have been shown around?’ She asked, though she knew the answer. She was biting the side of her lip and grinning, a slightly comical thing. So, it wasn’t the biggest story of the year, but hay, it was a start. Popular scandal for the next issue of The Torch? Well it was one step closer to that press pass she wanted so much.
Chloe stood up, an idea forming in her head. ‘Come on Sarah, we are going to do some investigating. What better way to integrate you into high school life than dishing the dirt on your fellow students?’
The plan you ask? Well it was to go find out who was supposed to be giving Sarah the tour, and if it was one of the cheerleaders then this was going to be one hell of an afternoon.

"I had no idea at all. Should I have?" She asked but was suddenly cut off. This reporter seemed really excited about something, and Sarah had a feeling she would be dragged into whatever plan she had cooked up. Looking around for some excuse to get away, the new girl was pretty much in a trap for something, whether it be good or bad.
The question 'should I just run away?' echoed in her mind. This girl was now seriously freaking her out with that devilish twinkle in thos light eyes. This Chloe... what a trip she was going to be.
Sarah couldn't just say no to an investigation. 1. it was rude and 2. she loved being a detective... even though his was hardly what Nancy Drew did.
"Well, ok." She said shyly and followed the editor of the Torch.
